What lies beneath opening

MACRO
Characters;
One female is introduced at the beginning of the film. The film starts with one main character bathing. This opening prepares you for what’s going to happen. The opening begins with the woman sitting up in the bath suddenly as she gasps for breathe. Straight away the audience is hooked and wanting to find out why she is struggling to breathe. As she gets out of the bath and turns on the hair dryer, again there is a sudden and unexpected noise as the hair dryer sparks.
MICRO
Mise en Scene;
Woman, bath, steamed up mirror, hair dryer, towel on the floor, bin, sink, stool and dressing table, shelves, switch on the wall where the hair dryer is plugged into.
Sound;
There isn’t a great deal of sound throughout the beginning. There is the noise of the water, the woman gasping for air, hairdryer. After this comes the noise of the hair dryer. There is no background music just the sounds of what the woman is doing.
Editing/Camera;
There are many close up shots of the woman to help express her feelings. There is also a long shot of the bath so we can see what she is doing and how she is feeling. There is slow editing. The camera slowly, from a long shot zooms in on the character.
